Job Description
Job Responsibilities


York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.


The Human Resources Specialist Performs The Following Functions


  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Human Resources office.
  • Coordinates processing and filing of routine Human Resources documents. Performs data entry and maintenance in support of insurance, retirement, payroll, onboarding, and recruitment. Audits Human Resources files as directed. Maintains the College’s official organizational charts.
  • Maintains the College’s performance management review program. Distributes reminders to managers, responds to general inquiries, and provides technical assistance in the completion of performance management documents.
  • Administers the College’s time and leave programs in accordance with the FLSA, SCTCS policy, and YTC guidelines. Ensures accurate and timely submission of time and leave records, serves as a resource to employees on time and leave programs, and ensures accuracy of the eleave and time management systems. Maintains non-exempt employee time records and monitors hours works and compensatory time earned.


Minimum And Additional Requirements


An Associate degree and two years of related work experience.


Preferred Qualifications


Previous experience working in a professional human resources office strongly preferred.
