The Human Resources Manager (HRM) role plays a critical role at the Niskayuna, NY research facility serving as the HR Manager for multiple client groups, leading Union Relations, and acting as the first point of contact for all employee issues. In addition, the role will be involved in numerous projects to help shape this new research entity dedicated to GE Aerospace. This is a very exciting time to join the Aerospace Research HR team!

The HRM - Aerospace Research will:

• Empower culture by providing a positive candidate/employee experience, and exemplifying the GE Leadership Behaviors – Act with Humility, Lead with Transparency, and Deliver with Focus
• Directly serve as the HR Manager for the Facilities and Security organization for the site, which will include ownership of all Union Relations activities, including local contract negotiations
• Conduct HR training and support for functional processes like Performance & Growth, Salary Planning, New Employee Orientations and New Manager Assimilations
• Engage with a variety of cross-disciplinary teams forming to proactively shape the employee value proposition and culture of the new research organization, including but not limited to, diversity, equity, & inclusion, community relations/activities, site events, etc.
• Partner with client leaders on employee topics such as engagement, team touchpoints, recruiting strategies, performance management, succession planning, compensation, etc.
• Build relationships with the researcher population and be the local point of contact for questions on fundamental HR topics and issues, escalate concerns when appropriate, and connect employees and managers to HR Services when it is the more appropriate resource

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Excellent collaboration, influence, written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources
• Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule, which means being on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, as well as additional days when on-site support is needed
• Prior experience in union relations
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Proven ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude during times of change and uncertainty
• Must be 18 years or older
