What does a FP&A and Reporting Manager do?
The Commercial Finance department is key to delivering a suite of financial reporting and analysis to support the regional business leaders. In addition, the department is tasked with leading the FP&A for the region, including the budgeting and reforecasting efforts as well as any other commercial analysis that may be required. We are undergoing a transformation to deliver efficient and automated processes resulting in enhanced business/financial reporting. The FP&A and Reporting Manager role is key to deliver the following:
- Working capital forecasting, including weekly cashflow forecasts
- Being fully accountable for all forecasting submissions and timetables, including rolling forecasts and client/product level P&L’s in region
- Owning the regional reporting for the commercial and partnerships team
- Management of a small team
- Ownership of the budgeting process and coordination of inputs in a timely and accurate manner
- Accurate monthly management reporting and variance analysis
- Supporting the regional teams and global FP&A function as necessary
- Explanations to key performance metrics
What will you do?
While management accounts and other regionalization overlays will be performed by the FinOps team, this position is accountable for the output produced elsewhere.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide client/product level P&L’s for decision making on a monthly basis
- As a key stakeholder, play a vital role in the delivery of all projects and systems upgrades affecting the financial reporting
- Own the working capital forecast, including weekly cashflow forecasts
- Own the rolling forecast process and timelines
- Produce budgets, in cooperation with Finance Business Partners
- Work with FinOps and commercial teams to ensure accurate accruals and revenue recognition practices are being followed
- Deliver accurate and timely Management Accounting commentary on a monthly basis
- Support Financial Controller – Americas on statutory audits and compliance reporting, as needed (i.e., data for tax computations, other, as applicable)
- Deliver all Group reporting requirements by the agreed deadlines, including the board pack commentary
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and deliverables as required
What You'll Need:
- Experience managing an FP&A team is a must.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics a strong advantage
- Very strong FP&A experience, ideally from a global, multi-currency business (T/O £1bn)
- Strong technical knowledge – up to date expertise in US GAAP
- Qualified and experienced accountant with significant experience in high volume/low margin global environment
- Can relate to all levels in the organisation and with gravitas to deal with executive boards.
- Strong modelling and forecasting skills
- Experience of working with commercial contracts very advantageous
Commercial Acumen
- An understanding of commercial contracts and ability to ensure the accounting to contract is accurate and can be discussed with both external and internal stakeholders.
