Executive Director Of Conferences

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an Executive Director of Conferences on behalf of our client, an impactful and leading-edge global foundation with a US location in the San Francisco Bay Area. Reporting to the founder, this role leads the management and coordination of exciting initiatives in creating conferences and knowledge-sharing platforms. This Executive Director will drive high-level synergy with all foundation initiatives across various venues. This position is 100% remote (candidates from the Bay Area preferred) and will require 25%30% travel, sometimes globally.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Build relationships with universities and other entities to sponsor and co-organize conferences and summits.
• Create and manage a system for tracking the success of conference initiatives.
• Establish and shepherd a budget for conference initiatives.
• Create and organize conferences for the foundation, including co-branded and own-brand conferences.
• Collaborate with research institutes and scientists to keep up with discoveriesand advances and stay informed of the latest developments in AI and leading science research.
• Develop a knowledge sharing platform to disseminate research, articles, video, and other relevant insights and content from all conferences.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience creating and executing international conferences and events.
• Masters or bachelors degree in a related field.
• 5+ years' experiencewith large-scale, cross-industry, and multi-focus conference management domestically and internationally.
• A tactical leader in communications and program oversight.
• Strong network and relationships with research institutes, academics and scientists.
• High-performance and solutions-focused project management.
• 1015 years of relevant professional experience in foundations, education or research institutions, or other related industries.
• Strong fortitude for collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders.

TRAVEL

This role requires an ability to travel 25%30% of the time, sometimes globally.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

In addition to a competitive base salary of $150K$200K (DOE), this incredible role provides a comprehensive full-time employee benefits package.
