Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children's and family programs. IF currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.

The Director of Development will be responsible for supporting a comprehensive fundraising plan which includes corporate giving, individual giving, legacy giving, foundation granting, special events, and other funding efforts. The Director of Development plays a key role in identifying, cultivating and soliciting new donors and facilitating relations with current donors as well as supporting the VP of Development. This role will work closely with the VP of Development and all of the Illumination Foundation staff to increase the breadth and depth of fundraising efforts in order to serve our most vulnerable homeless. The pay range for this position is $90,000-110,000 annually.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with and oversee database management
• Strategically work to meet annual organizational budgeting goals
• Coordinate and facilitate sponsors for all annual events
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Development objectives
• Develop effective reporting tools by donor target segment, including goals, activity success metrics and progress to goals
• Oversee preparation of all donor communications and tracking of donors and prospects
• Partner with marketing staff in the development of communication plans to ensure members, participants, and the community understand the case for support
• Plan, manage, and implement comprehensive donor programs, including corporate, foundation, and individual giving
• Develop innovative programs using data and social media to both identify and target potential donors
• Use both traditional networking as well as data-driven methods, to identify new donor prospects and develop appropriate cultivation plan for soliciting
• Work with the VP of Development to determine goals, priorities, and policies as they relate to the Development Department

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in fundraising or sales with a proven, quantifiable record
• Well versed in fundraising data analytics and contact strategy
• Proficient in donor or sales database management
• Strong Management skills with demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and motivate staff
• Bachelor's Degree
