We are looking for a Director of Sales, Food Drug Mass-Merchandize (FDM). This role will focus on supporting the successful integration of the brand, global growth strategy and international success. Through the identification, development and execution of US domestic strategies the Director of Sales, FDM. Working collaboratively with leadership, the VP Sales and this Director of Sales, FDM will successfully leverage the company's position and category expertise to further grow international presence and consumer trust.
Key Details:
- Sits 100% remote and candidate should be prepared to travel approx. 50% of the time
- $145,000 - $170,000 + Commission/Bonus Structure
- Candidate MUST have established FDM commercial connections and 5+ yrs of Consumer packaged goods sales experience
Core Requirements
- Strong commercial and financial acumen;
- Attributes:
- Experienced in managing remote relationships;
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
- Proven experience in US commercial management, sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
- Proven experience in structuring sales and business development initiatives and processes.
- Established FDM commercial connections with major customers within major strategic regional markets;
- Prepared to travel approximately 50% of the time;
Core Functions
- Set FDM financial targets, goals and budget development and monitoring
- Develop and execute commercial readiness assessments for proposed new opportunities and partnerships
- Align with VP of Sales and other stakeholders to gain agreement on partnership strategy and go-forward execution plans.
- Build region-specific (US) plans to incorporate partnership opportunities into the three-year strategic plan
- Create and oversee the FDM budget, establish controls, monitor revenues and control costs
- Act to acquire new FDM customers and manage client relationships (new and existing), especially with our client representative, The Emerson Group
- Build the FDM sales function, define roles, and responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of the FDMC business plan and commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Interpret and identify FDM market trends, opportunities and execution of plans
- Create, negotiate and close FDM commercial agreements, contracts and ensure legal compliance within the business as required
- Input to planning of the operational implementation and delivery of new business, ensuring agreed requirements and expectations are met by all parties
- Create, edit, and deliver sales tools to client and FDM customers as required
- Collaborate with domestic teams to create and maintain dashboards of KPI's that communicate effectiveness of identified programs and investments in partnerships
- Ownership of FDM bid generation and management
- Carry out risk assessment for FDM customers when taking on new customer accounts.
- Establish clear FDM processes, roles & responsibilities to commercialize new and on-going partnerships
- Identify, develop and present commercially attractive FDM business opportunities, both internally and to potential customers
