Primary Responsibilities
The Sr. Director of Independent Sales is accountable for developing, leading and managing sales and marketing programs for multiple and complex geographies to meet financial goals. This position will also develop and solidify relationships with customers, vendors and broker partners. As with all positions at KeHE we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Essential Functions
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.
  • Meet and collaborate with other members of the sales team and cross functional partners to identify outbound prospective opportunities and develop strategies and processes that sales team will execute
  • Increase sales by finding new business opportunities and through consistent follow up.
  • Increase sales by developing creative promotional plans and managing through to profitable execution.
  • Own sales and profitability for the assigned region and sales team
  • Manage budgets for the assigned customers.
  • Participate in regional and national trade events and represent the company through public speaking and participation in industry associations.
  • Ongoing sales plan development, assessment, analysis, and execution specific to the accounts of responsibility.
  • Assure that established company policies and procedures are followed in the assigned sales area.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other KeHE functional areas to meet all company objectives.
  • Develop, increase and execute plans and programs to ensure the sales and profit growth at the account in the region
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend paths forward to address these activities.
  • A proactive and assertive leadership approach to grow sales and profitability urgently
  • Work with a sense of urgency towards projects, request and deadlines.
  • Responsible for the analysis and distribution of category management information and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Minimum five (10) years’ experience in the grocery retail channel. Five years in a supervisory or management role within industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High school diplomas required.
