Job Location: Remote, USA


The Employee Relations and Compliance Specialist will serve as a member of the Plant HR Operations team responsible for delivering employee relations services to the business. In this role, you will use employee relations knowledge to coordinate complex processes and deliver human resource services, which include conducting investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution and monitoring compliance.


Essential Functions


  • Help prepare audits, reporting and compliance reviews pertaining to local regulations and programs.
  • Supports or conducts Ethics investigations and keeps Ethics team appraised of progress and dispositions
  • Support Company Policy design for Domestic Plant Locations.
  • Serve as an employee relations specialist within our domestic plant HR operations to provide relevant and effective consulting services.
  • Coach leaders regarding employee conduct, company risk and policy administration
  • Maintains expertise in all Federal, State and local employment related laws, rules, regulations, and company policies.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Confer with HR Teams and provide guidance and consultation making sure they are using the tools and resources available.
  • Exercises independent decision-making when advising on utilization of the corrective action process to assure mitigation of risk, behavior correction and support of policy/procedure compliance
  • Responsible for reviewing, conducting, and reporting on confidential organizational investigations and supporting leaders regarding employee relations and policy concerns in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work with legal resources and HR Teams to ensure employee relations activities adhere to company policy and legal and regulatory requirements.


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally - both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish rapport and trust quickly and effectively
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office desktop tools and electronic communications, such as E-mail and calendars required
  • Results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think creatively and proactively in identifying potential issues and resolving known issues
  • Desire to continuously learn and stay up to date on employment laws, trends, issues, and concerns
  • Ability to discern issues that need to be escalated


Education / Experience


  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
  • 2-4 years of required experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, and/or employment law
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, or related field required.
  • Experience handling employee investigations and conflict resolutions required; Certification or vocational training preferred
