Manager's Update:
This is a 100% remote role, Lake county and North Chicago, IL would be preferred
- Prior Abbott exp. would be great to have but not a deal breaker
- Someone who has working as a HR Manager and having an exp. with Employee relations would be work
- This person will only be working on employee relations
- Must have ER investigations experience
- Prior recruiting exp. or any other HR activities will not be work for this role
- Looking for 3-5 years of experience
- Associate degree with 8+ years of exp. would be work for this role
- Effectively and accurately maintains confidential ER data in both system and paper files
- BS degree would be preferred for this role
- Able to work with Managers and other stakeholders too
- Case management and Zendesk exp. would pe preferable but not a requirement
- Any industry exp. would be fine for this role
- Must have ER experience

Employee Relations Manager
Summary
Executes the delivery of the employee relations services to provide a single point of contact for efficiently providing highly accessible expert employee relations interface across multiple businesses and/or countries. Responsible for proactive and responsive approaches to employee relations issues that support a positive environment. Ensures compliance with all relevant country laws, regulations, policies and practices.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates and provides ER related training to the business.
- Effectively and accurately maintains confidential ER data in both system and paper files.
- Ensures professional service is provided at all times in accordance with the ER Service Level Agreement.
- Defines, leads and/or manager ER projects.
- Leads investigations into employee relations issues.
- May supervise salaried and/or hourly personnel in the organization.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant country laws, regulations, policies and practices.
- Provides expert consultative and problem solving services to managers, employees and other HR functions regarding HR policies and practices.
Accountability/Scope
- Within scope of responsibility, grasps complexities and perceives relationships among problems or issues.
- Knowledge must address diverse and difficult problems or situations across multiple businesses and/or countries.
- Works closely with customer to jointly design solutions, balancing business, employee and legal needs.
- Brings credibility and in-depth knowledge of options.
- Identifies critical factors in a particular situation, identifies alternate cause of action and makes recommendations baaed upon all available facts.
- Meets defined ER service level agreement.
- Defines, plans and organizes projects to achieve favorable outcomes Proficient in application of common tools for managing project scope, cost schedule and resources Ability to identify and manage risk, have contingency plans.
- Anticipates, identifies and meets internal and external customer needs/expectations Effectively communicates and negotiates with customers to define service levels.
- Broad operating latitude.
- Considered the subject matter expert on a broad range of ER policies and practices.
- Manages expectations and delivers results.
- Independently resolves all cases, elevating only most complex situations to manager for review.
- Takes a broad view of the problem looking at all alternatives and impact to the organization as well as enterprise before applying solution.
Education
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Employee Relations or other HR experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations or related field
- Expertise in HR regulations, polities and procedures.
