Document Controller Jobs

The Document Controller is responsible for processing and maintaining all construction drawings, quality control test reports, completed job folders, customer data packages and assisting with maintenance of the Quality Management System.This role supports the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining compliance with the quality management system and all applicable standards.The Document Controller will have contact with all levels of the organization including top management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

High School Diploma Required.Manufacturing industry and/or document control experience a plus. Must be a results oriented individual maintaining an emphasis on detail and precision in all their duties.

The Document Controller reports to the Quality Manager.

The Document Controller will be expected to but not limited to:

The Document Controller is responsible for supporting the Quality Department daily operations.In addition to the following, this includes many tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.

• Reviews document and transmittal quality according to check list for document control.
• Answer’s inquiries and responds to correspondence from inside and outside the company.
• Process all drawings for construction and reference in compliance with documented procedures and maintain records of revision status.
• Review and verify all manufacturing documentation, production records, and ensure the documentation complies with regulations and internal quality control practices.
• Responsible for pulling MTRs from QuickBooks for orders to be shipped.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Follow document control procedure in transmitting and receiving documents.
• Analyzes & controls all technical documentation related to department and project activities within contractual requirements and Company procedures (including confidentiality).
• Process all requests for document changes.
• Compile and issue customer data packages per customer requirements and applicable quality standards.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Maintaining job information in Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
• Receives general instructions for routine projects and detailed instructions for more complex projects.
• Responsible for scanning documents PDF and verifying purchase order, item number/description, material type, heat numbers, weld maps, heat maps, painting reports, traceability sheets, weld procedure, hydrostatic test and drawings revision are correct.
• Follow document control procedure in transmitting and receiving documents.
• Create and maintain document numbers including client and supplier’s numbers.
• Provide documentation support during internal audits, certification audits and management reviews.
