Job Summary

Aethon Energy Operating LLC’s (“Aethon”) Controller is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and development of the Company's Revenue, JIB, Accounts Payable and General Ledger Accounting Teams to ensure compliance with GAAP and other reporting requirements. The Controller also works closely with outside audit professionals and the Chief Accounting Officer to ensure all compliance activities are executed in accordance with statutory regulation.

DUTIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and develop a staff of approximately 20 accounting professionals’ responsible for the revenue, JIB, accounts payable and general ledger functions
• Oversee accounting operations including the adequacy of internal controls
• Solid leadership quality able to guide and counsel direct reports to achieve professional goals while uniting and building a stronger team
• Collaborate and build a strong internal working relationship with operational leadership and staff to ensure strong communication and teamwork across various disciplines
• Collaborate with management to identify, implement and continually improve the corporate performance measure, oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of scorecard reports
• Administer design and implement financial information systems and seek ways to improve financial reporting and controls
• Oversee and manage the annual audit process with external auditors

Requirements

• CPA certification preferred
• Proactive and detail-oriented, capable of monitoring financial systems and controls, and an ability to make necessary changes to upgrade systems, policies and procedures
• Ability to initiate change management in the areas of accounting policy and procedures and implement the processes necessary to streamline and optimize financial systems, staff and related control infrastructure
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or tax
• A proven track record in building trust and establishing a good rapport with operational and administrative team members as well as key eternal contacts including auditors, legal and tax experts
• Extensive experience in oil and gas accounting
• Enertia accounting software experience preferred, but not required
• At least 5 years of experience in a financial management or leadership position within a company with domestic oil and gas experience
