Job Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing direct response fundraising across multiple platforms and managing the operations functions of the Development team.
Essential Functions:
In partnership with the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Operations is responsible for directing strategies that ensure the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of direct response donors. The Director also oversees the operations functions of the Development team, including financial reporting and projections, data management, and shared services, such as gift processing and prospect research.
Major Responsibilities:
Develops and supervises the execution of annual solicitation plan for direct response donors.
Oversees annual campaign solicitations, both physical and digital, including but not limited to overseeing the creation of appeal materials and donor segmentation.
Analyzes performance of annual campaign appeals and works with staff to adjust solicitation and messaging strategies based on results from the analysis.
Works with the Director of Philanthropy on the overall moves management strategy for all donors. Identifies prospects and ensures a pipeline of donors for the mid-level and major gifts programs.
Ensures other teams within the organization have the operational support needed, including database access and training, donor analytics, donor research, or other projects, as needed.
Develops and manages annual budget for direct response and operations costs.
Oversees financial reconciliation and reporting, including Board reporting, AAFR reporting, financial reconciliation, etc.
Ensures compliance with donor data and solicitation best practices, including adhering to NPS and PPOL agreements and other standards required for PPFA affiliation.
Supervises staff including managers of the annual campaign and development database teams, as well as other direct response and data support staff.
Maintains relationships with and negotiates contracts with key vendors, including but not limited to the donor database, printers, mail houses, etc.
Coordinates operations support for events and attends events, as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises Development Database Manager, Annual Campaign Manager and other team members as needed.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Ten years of relevant experience in planning and implementing direct response fundraising programs, including financial oversight and data analysis
Skills:
  • Excel, Word and advanced Raisers Edge skills required.
  • Self motivated work style.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and personal communication skills.
Compensation:
PPGNHAIK's compensation philosophy is based on equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by the candidate's location, directly applicable experience and internal equity within the paygrade. The pay range is 104,070 - 193,274 paid annually.
