The Position


The Director of HR and Development will serve as a department lead to support business plans, operations, and organizational development initiatives for the entire organization. This position will work closely with the business line and support services teams on matters related to employee relations, total rewards, talent acquisition, and employee development. Additionally, this role supports full lifecycle delivery of the organization's talent strategy - orientation, training and development, performance, and succession.


  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; escalated disputes and EEOC investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and occupational health and safety.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Support planning and facilitation of talent review and succession discussions to identify successors for direct reports to Executive Leadership Team members, ensuring inclusive selection processes. Support high level talent discussions for leaders and professionals deeper in the organization.
  • Supervises the HR & Development staff, including the daily workflow of the team.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Partner with business leaders to effectively implement programs related to succession planning, career development and other talent management processes.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Support leaders in setting performance standards, driving a culture of service and accountability, and increasing employee engagement.


Qualifications


  • Seven (7) plus years of experience in Human Resources and/or Talent Management/organizational Development, with previous experience managing direct reports.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably with a concentration in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development
  • Prior experience delivering Talent Management strategies connected to business priorities to enable and reinforce diverse high potential leadership talent sourcing, development, and retention.
  • PHR Certification, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM SCP) credential strongly preferred.
  • Experience with designing and leading Leadership Development, Leadership Alignment or Culture Change programs.
  • Previous experience in Financial Institutions is required.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization and employees.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, word, excel, and PowerPoint.
