Job Details

Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Purchasing to lead our procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in broadline food distribution, category management, vendor negotiation, purchasing, procurement, food distribution, and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the purchasing process to ensure that our company is able to obtain the best quality products at the most competitive prices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all purchasing activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the company is receiving the best possible products and services
• Oversee the procurement process from start to finish, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management
• Work closely with other departments, including engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure that all purchasing needs are met
• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
• Develop and implement metrics to track the performance of the procurement team and identify areas for improvement
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Manage and oversee 3 different OPCO's including a team of over 15
• Manage the procurement team to ensure that all purchasing activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner

Qualifications

• Excel Must be proficient with V Lookups, Pivot tables, Etc.
• Strong knowledge of broadline food distribution, category management, vendor negotiation, buyer/procurement, purchasing, procurement, food distribution, and operations
• Experience with ERP systems and other procurement software is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 7+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Proven track record of success in developing and implementing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and process improvements
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Must relocate or be local to Hattiesburg, MS Relocation Avail
