Cloud Engineer – Technical Services
We seek a self-managed, quick-learner individual IT specialist to join our growing Information Technology team. In this role, you will help manage our InfoDesk global cloud infrastructure, be a technical lead that supports & enhances our development, QA and production systems, and assist in first response with troubleshooting production issues and in DevOps function. This position requires the skills and abilities to work alongside development and QA departments in solving complex problems and the creativity to help build infrastructure for future products.
Responsibilities:
This role will be based in Hawaii, USA
As an individual contributor focusing on building and supporting a world-class cloud infrastructure, you will:
- Provide after hours, on-call and escalation support of lnfoDesk's 24x7 cloud hosting environment, including system outages and incident response
- Create training documentation and take part in the team's cross-training program
- Meet key performance indicators and SLA’s set by upper management
- Maintain and upgrade local infrastructure for employees as needed
- Develop bash, and python scripts to support automated processes
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of our technology operations
- Familiar with Terraform and other IAC tools
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, participate in engineering activities to ensure consistently high levels of quality and productivity, and provide timely and accurate estimates for deliverables
- Work towards continually improving operational processes and procedures
- Help troubleshoot InfoDesk applications, network errors and performance issues, database checks
- Assist with maintaining, and monitoring AWS, Azure or any other cloud and infrastructure, VMs, resources, subscriptions ...
- Troubleshoot technical incidents that come from the Customer Support Team
- College degree in science and IT field
Skills/ Experience:
- Quick learner with an attitude to learning new technology and tools
- Overall Cloud System Administration experience with AWS and Azure
- Problem-solving attitude
- 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in various cloud services, system administration, and IT operations; should have knowledge of continuous integration and build/release/production deployments in large cloud/SaaS environments
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- The intense attention to detail balanced with swift execution and Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experienced in DevOps function is added advantage
- Ability to script in either powershell, Bash, or Python
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
