Senior Technical Services Engineer- Gas Processing & Refinery Purification

As a Senior Technical Service Engineer, the role holder will be required to work independently (with support from other regional technical service engineers) as the key point of contact providing technical expertise and advice to customers across the region within the Gas Processing & Refinery Purification business, and has the opportunity to expand their proficiency to other CT technologies. They will apply technical understanding and knowledge of the CT product portfolio to solve a range of problems, from simple troubleshooting to complex projects. They will be the technical face of the CT organization, both liaising with customers remotely and travelling to meet with regional customers in person.
Your responsibilities:

• Liaise with the wider Technical Service team (Service Coordination, TS-SME team) and the commercial team to ensure that work requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner
• Build and maintain effective partnerships with customers in an ethical and safe manner
• Engage in customer visits including technical meetings and plant audits. Travel to customer plant sites to act as JM supervisor during catalyst changeouts, and start-ups, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with JM code of ethics and EHS policy and practices
• Carry out other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced colleagues
• Work closely with the commercial team to provide them with technical evaluations and evaluate guarantees and required technical services
• Act as the voice of the customer to feed technical and market information back into the business (ex: commercial functions, R&D, business development and Marketing teams) to enable JM to enhance product offering
• Role involves up to 40% travel to customer offices and plants.
• Provide technical service to customers through direct customer support in standard and non-standard situations. This includes preparing technical proposals, performance evaluations, troubleshooting, and responding to ad-hoc customer inquiries.
• Work flexibly to ensure that changing work demands are prioritised and adequately supported
• Actively look to build proficiency beyond own core technology within CT technical scope
• Handle complex technical support issues related to the plant and catalyst both proactively and in response to “emergencies" aimed at delivering long-term value for JM and the customer
• Own tasks, ensuring they are completed within time constraints
• Extract maximum value from the segmented customer base through developing and deploying the appropriate level of technical services

Requirements for the role:

• Established knowledge and experience in supporting customers with onsite support work including changeouts, reductions, and startup
• Capable of working independently to deliver business critical objectives
• Process Engineering Background with experience in operations preferred
• Strong understanding of customers’ business and production process
• Degree in a scientific/technical discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred)
• Ability and flexibility to travel up to 40-50% of the time
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient written and spoken English communication skills- fluent Spanish speaking is a plus
• Ability to drive change
• Significant customer-facing experience
• Confident public speaker
• Experience defining best practice processes
• Solid knowledge of Gas Processing & Refineries flowsheets, absorbent, and alternative technologies
• Strong IT and computing skills
