Technical Writer (Remote) Jobs

Compensation Range: $45 - 55 per hour

We are currently seeking a skilled and self-motivated Technical Writer to join our client's team and contribute to their success. In this role you will assist with creating content for user and service manuals and other guides for ophthalmic surgical products and software. The ideal candidate has impressive attention to detail and the ability to break down complex concepts into clear and concise documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Review and edit work from other technical writers and departments.
• Collaborate with other technical writers, illustrators, and stakeholders.
• Distill highly technical information for internal and external users while adhering to internal standards.
• Edit content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability.
• Conduct independent research and liaising with subject matter experts to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical data, drawings, specification, and external standards (such as IEC, ISO, FDA, and/or EU MDR requirements).

Qualifications:

• Experience level: Entry Level
• Additional areas of competency that will be beneficial:
• BA in English, Technical Communication, or related field.
• Knowledge of cloud computing and cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with medical devices.
• Portfolio of writing samples.
• Strong experience with authoring programs like Adobe InDesign and/or MadCap Flare.
• Knowledge of IEC, ISO, FDA, and/or EU MDR requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Minimum 2 years experience in technical writing or communication.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic surgical concepts and practices.
• Strong attention to detail.
