Responsibilities:
• Consistently complete tactical tasks within the scope of a larger content creation project, with guidance from key stakeholders
• Demonstrate impact by executing assigned tasks and completing work in a timely manner that is considered high-quality, with guidance.
• Select appropriate work procedures or approaches from a set of options with guidance from manager or senior team members.
Challenge:
• Solve defined problems of moderate scope or complexity using standard tools, resources, and processes.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion to achieve defined objectives but recognize when to seek guidance from senior team members (e.g., when facing ambiguous or relatively large problems).
• Participate in cross-project and cross-functional collaborations, and work effectively in a team setting.
• Create and manage own schedule and manage interactions with network, product or program team but verify approach with manager or stakeholders.
• Follow guidance on timing, process, and objectives to maintain and improve the quality and accuracy of documents.
• Identify and escalate conflicts between senior team members.
• Possess or actively acquire the foundational skill set to understand technical details or fundamental concepts of product or program.
• Learn the domains written about by investigation, hands-on experimentation, and interactions with SMEs.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of user needs and content creation processes and tools.
• Use basic knowledge of the domain and work with subject matter experts to create and deliver content based on project goals and user needs.
• Choose appropriate format, voice, and style based on the audience and relevant guidelines.
• Prepare drafts for review via relevant tools and ensure quality of content through iteration with guidance.
• Update content based on product or program changes and user feedback, and update or delete irrelevant or outdated content, with guidance.
• Incorporate feedback from relevant stakeholders (e.g., engineers, product managers, program managers, marketing, legal, customers) to align content with user needs and product/program goals.
• Manage expectations and maintain relationships with stakeholders with guidance.
• Review and edit content to improve the content accuracy, clarity, concision, and organization to better meet users' needs, with guidance.
Required Skills:
• Ability to plan content that is an integral part of the user experience and essential to successfully land products and programs, meet user’s needs, and help shape the development of products and programs so they are easy to adopt and use. This includes the ability to understand the content goals and identify the appropriate format (e.g., text, illustration, screenshot, voice, video).
• Technical Aptitude
• Ability to learn the concepts, procedures, strategies, and principles quickly and proactively in a technical domain. Ability to clearly explain relevant technologies, help users solve or analyze technical issues, provide useful technical insights, and proactively seek out and acquire knowledge across technical domains.
• Ability to understand users' goals and their context. This includes the ability to know what they are trying to accomplish with the product/program and their existing knowledge and skill level.
• Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts to understand new technologies, independently identify and extract information that users need, and collaborate on iterations of content drafts.
• Ability to create accurate, clear, concise, and well-organized content that transfers knowledge to users to meet their needs. Ability to communicate and deliver information to a variety of audience types in a manner that is adapted to each learning style, level of understanding, and background.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in Content Development, Technical Writing, Technical Documentation
• Expertise in high-level technology.
