It Cloud Engineer - Remote

This is a full-time remote position within the US.

The Departmental Systems Division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the Clinical Specialty Team. This team develops and supports custom applications for various clinical specialties across Mayo Clinic. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in Neurology and artificial intelligence.

As part of the Neurology Artificial Intelligence Program (NAIP), the successful candidate will manage the development of complex cloud infrastructure supporting web-based products and should be proficient with Terraform and Google Cloud Infrastructure. Experience in full-stack application development and operations, especially in a high-security, audited cloud environment is preferred. The NAIP team is by design highly interdisciplinary: additional experience in research, academics, or clinical settings is highly valued.

The Cloud Engineer will ensure enterprise cloud solutions are effectively designed, delivered, and supported. The role involves developing scripts to automate tasks, ensuring the compatibility and integration of cloud solutions with existing systems, and maintaining security standards. The engineer will also develop time and cost estimates for cloud solutions, and support and maintain their design.

Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience with 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience, or Associate’s degree with 5 years’ experience with 1 years demonstrated leadership experience, or HS/GED with 7 years of experience in a large, complex organization like Mayo Clinic may be considered in lieu of the degree. Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework. Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical ability and data-driven mindset. Ability to rapidly acquire new knowledge and skills. Familiarity with service design and pricing in the context of cloud-based solutions. Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, database architecture, virtualization, software design, software development, IP networking, Linux, Agile development, SCRUM, application lifecycle management, .NET, programming languages, technical solution architecture, SOA, Windows Azure, Amazon AWS. Certification in cloud engineering is required within 12-24 months.
