Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the organization that powers Microsoft’s core cloud platforms and services that millions of people use every day. The Datacenter Integration Services (DCIS) team is part of CO+I. The DCIS vision is to ensure Microsoft can deploy and operate cloud infrastructure for any offering, at any time, in any location, at any scale. DCIS is a core team that is integral to the planning, development, deployment, and operations of innovative technologies and offerings such as immersion cooling, the fastest public cloud supercomputers and for customers running their mission critical workloads or providing unique Artificial Intelligence (AI) offerings such as Azure OpenAI service. We are looking to fill the role of Senior Technical Program Manager who can envision and implement technical solutions to solve large business problems at scale. This role requires someone who has a process management and technical development mindset. Collaboration, influencing without authority and adaptability across a wide group of stakeholders from leaders to individual contributors and support staff are core competencies essential to success in this role.  Working with software engineering groups, you will drive datacenter operations requirements to shape capacity deployment workflow orchestration systems specific for large scale AI Platforms. In our evolving cloud business, constant growth in scale and complexity make this a challenging opportunity to transform how we grow Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to deal with datacenter Information Technology topics covering deployment and break fix operations.
  • Learn, live, and coach “One Microsoft” culture and values. Lead through change by bringing clarity and delivering success.
  • Able to communicate examples of performance metrics and the development of objectives and key results.
  • Collaborating with Business and Engineering stakeholders on project status and new feature requests for progress towards our roadmap and strategic business plans.
  • Manage a portfolio of datacenter programs from initiation through execution, enhancing business value across different program delivery dimensions.
  • Drive business results through a focus on key performance indicators and business goals, promoting clarity and motivation to the project team to execute on time.
  • Deliver ambiguous projects with multiple stakeholders, unclear requirements, and incomplete data.
  • Differentiate Microsoft datacenter delivery to create a competitive advantage by applying ‘Best in Class’ project and program management expertise.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effectively demonstrates cross group Leadership and drives alignment and team work across organizational boundaries
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Knowledge of datacenter operations.
  • Focus on solving customer and business problems
  • Optimizes business impact by understanding and applying data-driven intelligence to create change; quickly applies these industry/partner/customer derived insights to inform decisions and drive strategy. Brilliant follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ability to deliver results despite ambiguity in the requirements and the environment
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
