McGuireWoods has an opening for a Business Development Assistant to join our Marketing and Business Development team. This is a hybrid role that can be located in our Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL offices.

The Business Development Assistant will provide administrative and sales support by coordinating the prospective and current client pipeline for the Healthcare & Life Sciences team, and other practice areas, as needed. This position will report to the Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and the desire to learn and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage the master Healthcare & Life Sciences target list that is utilized for outreach, client development, events and reporting.
• Source and coordinate with Business Development & Healthcare & Life Sciences teams on potential leads and markets including leveraging social media tools to identify potential sources of introductions.
• Create targeted communications for clients and prospective clients including templates that can be sent for sales and relationship building opportunities.
• Speak with sponsors, coordinate events, blogs, podcasts, and update content and outreach materials as needed.
• Conduct research on pipeline opportunities for the Healthcare & Life Sciences team. Familiarity with Pitchbook, and other resource tools specific for the industry, is a plus.
• Track outbound and inbound responses in CRM system. Methodically follow up on status of communications sent.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and planning skills; attention to detail.
• Experience in marketing, technology and data management is a plus, particularly within a law firm environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• At least 2 years of experience in a business development/sales/marketing environment, and a related college degree is preferred.
• Experience working with attorneys, private equity groups and investment firms a plus.
• Proficient with CRM/sales tools; MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
