Summary
The Associate HR Manager-Helm will work closely with the Senior Director of Agribusiness HR, , and other HR Managers to deliver the HR Strategic plan and initiatives across California business groups. Associate HR Managers are active members of the group/functional leadership team and work closely with all levels of people leaders on HR-related matters, providing front line support in the areas of talent and succession, performance, leadership development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and change management. This role is an advocate and champion of the organizational values, culture, and the HR Operating Model of the Simplot Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as the fields initial point of contact for employee relations, assisting managers and employees with issues and concerns. Prepares for union contract negotiations for the Helm plant and may assist with Lathrop plant negotiations. Perform employee investigations and tracks results for non-discriminatory complaints. Partner with Company Complaint Process Manager to investigate claims of discrimination and other issues and advise managers on process. Follow-up with management and employee(s) regarding case/ status of investigations. Manage return to work programs, ADA accommodations, facilitation of temporary work assignments, and exit interviews.

- Lead efforts in the Helm Manufacturing plant and assist other California locations around talent management, talent and succession, performance management, organization design, engagement, workforce planning, leadership development, and change management. Coach and develop people leaders.
- Manage and coordinate local HR service delivery to mitigate risk, ensure compliance and facilitate operational excellence. Provide feedback on HR policies, processes and programs to Business HR and HR Communities of Expertise (COE), manage affirmative action plans (AAP’s) and EEO requirements, and facilitate consistent compensation practices
- Compliance:
- Manage and coordinate local HR service delivery to mitigate risk, ensure compliance and facilitate operational excellence. Provide feedback on HR policies, processes and programs to Business HR and HR Communities of Expertise (COE), manage affirmative action plans (AAP’s) and EEO requirements, and facilitate consistent compensation practices

- Business Partnering:
- Serve as the primary liaison for the Helm Manufacturing plant management team and other California management teams providing insights, guidance, and assisting with execution on key employment activities.
- Support leaders and employees in the field, redirecting as appropriate HR related inquiries/requests to HR Solutions, while providing support in local areas as needed. Resolve complex HR process escalations in partnership with HR COE and HR Solutions

Typical Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
5+ years related experience and/or training
Required Certifications
SHRM Certification - Preferred
