seven roots is seeking a part time, contract Administrative and Project Manager to support the seven roots team and client partners with store development work.

seven roots is a small, worker-owned store development firm, supporting independent food businesses and grocery retailers. Our clients include many food co-ops, non-profit grocers, and startup groups forming food businesses. We work collaboratively within our team and with a number of fantastic industry partners. We work remotely. We’re looking for someone great to join our team for ~90 days, June-August. At that point, we’ll be evaluating the position for extension/long term viability.

Qualified candidates will be:

• Ego and drama free
• Experienced managing projects, supporting professional teams, and/or proficiencies in these areas
• Community minded
• Proficient with Google Docs & Sheets, DropBox, Zoom, Slack and GCal.
• Friendly, kind and into having fun at work
• Organized and punctual

Helpful but not required: Experience of strong interest in retail grocery, community initiatives/organizations, cooperative business or similar.

Job responsibilities as follows:

Note: Our work and needs are specific, and we’re also open to a variety of possibilities for the position. The exact breakdown of work may adjust depending on the individual who fills this role.

Day to day

• Manage seven roots files and documents
• Scheduling + meeting coordination
• Project traffic management support, together with the team
• Quality assurance on project deliverables
• Customer service and communication
• Meeting attendance, note-taking and follow up

Long term (depending on the goal and/or candidates, we expect to co-develop final definitions of this work to set the team up for success)

• Propose project management systems and/or tools to support the group’s work

• Compensation details to be determined by experience/skills
• Initially approximately 12 weeks, June-August, with the possibility of longer-term
• Remote/virtual
• Anticipated 12-20 hrs/week, with the possibility of growth
