Job Description
This Practice Succession Manager is a remote based role with regular U.S. travel at approximately 70% or more during peak periods.


This role will lead a physician’s transition during the practice succession and retirement process, ensuring a smooth and professionally managed transition for both the retiring and transitioning physician, while positively influencing, and motivating each aspect of the succession. This includes messaging, administration, conference calls, corporate training visits, working with all applicable internal departments and execution of succession/retirement work tasks. Accountable for achieving or exceeding membership and retention goals, practice and physician preparedness, quality of sales and webinar events and managing the entire succession process. Serves as key liaison between departments associated with the transition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Succession Management


  • Works collaboratively with the onsite Patient Advocate, patient services team to effectively troubleshoot and resolve problems. Maintains daily contact and accessibility to ensure timely responses.
  • Work with the Practice Succession department team members to facilitate a smooth handoff of the physician when deemed appropriate.
  • Analyzes available data and conducts research to create and recommend a strategy for the transition of a physician practice to the MDVIP system and the exit strategy for the physician retiring from the network.
  • Identifies and secures all resources needed to maximize each transition/succession. Participates in the identification of methods to expand practices. Works onsite regularly and engages with physician, staff, and Patient Advocate daily through various methods.
  • Coordinates and conducts meetings to execute plan of action for successions and communicates transition/succession dates and tasks assigned.


Training and Presentations


  • Ensures efficient hand-off between retiring physician and succession physician.
  • Conducts training to educate new physician and staff/Reinforcing existing physician and staff to ensure effective messaging.
  • Attends and presents training at corporate visits.


Administrative


  • Completes data updates and expense reports weekly. Plans travel wisely.
  • Handles associated practice transition/succession related correspondence, meeting preparations, etc.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Knowledge


Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, or Management, and at least four years related business and/or medical sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience where two years related experience equals one year of schooling.


Required Skills and Experience


  • A minimum of 4 years in medical sales, account management, customer service, practice management or clinical work or two years of related experience in the MDVIP environment
  • Has a general understanding of medical field, insurance, Medicare, credentialing, EHR systems, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and strategic planning skills used in prior roles.
  • Sales experience, project management, presentation skills and experience interfacing with physicians in a professional capacity is required.
  • Project oriented, organized, creative and intuitive.
  • Able to establish credibility with physician and staff and sell ideas/concepts for a win-win result.
  • Conduct professional, compelling sales presentations (formal and informal).


Desirable Skills and Experience


  • Has a general understanding of medical field, insurance, Medicare, credentialing, EHR systems, etc.
  • Sales experience, project management, presentation skills and experience interfacing with physicians in a professional capacity is highly desirable.


Certificates and Licenses


  • Valid Driver’s license with insurable driving record. HIPAA Certification is required (or to be obtained within 30 days of hire).


Remote based role


  • This role requires substantial U.S. travel as identified at the time of hire, or transfer.
  • Due to substantial air travel, the home residence must be within 45 miles or 90 minutes driving distance to a large airport servicing the United States.
  • When not traveling, this role is approved for home-based work, from the location identified at the time of hire/transfer.


At no time may work be performed, or computer systems accessed, from outside of the U.S.
