Community Project Manager

This is the reality our community members face, for themselves and for their loved ones. There’s limitless information floating around out there, but finding the content that’s both hopeful and helpful can be incredibly difficult.
Our mission at The Patient Story is to be that light for people who are struggling. Our content and educational content helps them navigate life after a diagnosis, spanning cancer patient education, connection, and awareness, delivered through in-depth interviews with patients, survivors, and medical experts.
Position Summary
The Community Project Manager will focus on supporting those who get cancer care at community oncology practices (not large academic institutions), which accounts for most Americans. We're looking for a mission-oriented and passionate community organizer to execute impactful programs and events, in person and virtual, to empower cancer patients in their own care.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize community healthcare providers, clinics, and care centers for joint programming, held both in-person and virtual
- Identify and enlist event speakers/panelists, consisting of community oncologists and healthcare providers, patient advocates/advocacy organization leaders, and community leaders
- Organize and project manage community programs and activities with our partners and survivors:
- Handle event logistics and marketing
- Set up programs and agendas that benefit participants
- Work with our team members to identify growth opportunities within existing initiatives & identify any new opportunities to address unmet needs in the community
- Requires travel to in-person community events throughout the year
Who you are

- Organized and clear communicator
- Outstanding project management, relationship building, and project management skills
- Scrappy, roll-up-sleeves approach, with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Bilingual In Spanish Preferred but not required
- Able to work well both independently and collaboratively
Your work experience
- Four year degree
- Experience managing programs and building relationships, particularly around health education
- 3+ years of experience working with community healthcare providers and private practices in a business development or sales capacity
