BluePearl is currently seeking a Vice President of Corporate Affairs


The Vice President of Corporate Affairs is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving a comprehensive corporate affairs strategy for BluePearl. This role works with and across multiple stakeholders within BluePearl and Mars Veterinary Health. Responsible for internal and external communications, building an understanding of BluePearl’s strategy and culture, telling the organization’s value story and enhancing reputation, and effective crisis and communication management, the Vice President will drive strategic change in corporate affairs that are aligned with BluePearl’s business priorities.


As The VP Of Corporate Affairs, You Will


  • Oversee enterprise-wide communications calendar to drive greater accountability for actions and to deliver more focused content and messaging to Associates.
  • Ensure that all messaging complements the broader Mars Global Petcare, Mars Veterinary Health and Mars, Incorporated communications/reputation strategies.
  • Manages issues and crisis communications and serve as key member of CMT.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
  • Consults with key leaders to define and address communication needs; develops and implements programs to deliver key messages.
  • Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with peers to ensure the short and long-term success of the organization.
  • Navigate BluePearl and MVH stakeholders and serve on the Mars Veterinary CA Leadership Team. Strategically align with other units and segments through One Mars U.S.
  • Deepen Associate engagement through strategic storytelling and communications. Find avenues and channels directing the messaging to channels with the greatest impact/opportunity for engagement.
  • Improve consistency of voice through strategic internal and external communications. Direct internal engagement strategies in strong partnership and alignment with key stakeholders, ensuring consistency of message internally and externally, including communication of operational, medical, and P&O programs.
  • Lead the Corporate Affairs function and oversee all corporate affairs activities including crisis communications and issues management, internal and Associate communications, media relations, brand communications, stakeholder engagement, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, social media engagement, executive communications, and select events and sponsorships.
  • Build, mentor, and motivate a collaborative high-performing team with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Determine viable platforms for corporate responsibility, introduce and champion the MVH Sustainability Plan, and BluePearl’s support of key initiatives.
  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars within self and team.
  • Serves as the Corporate Affairs leader on the BluePearl SLT and brings in external and competitive landscape/reputation perspective to leadership discussions.
  • Protect and promote BluePearl’s reputation to support the retention and recruitment of talent, and business growth in partnership with key functions of the business in execution of a Corporate Affairs strategy.
  • Provides strategic guidance and tactical assistance to the President and the senior leadership team for all CA relates activities.
  • Oversees execution of strategic initiatives with the communication team both internally and externally; including brand and Associate communication campaigns, exploring innovative ways to publicize and showcase information about BluePearl to relevant audiences.


Education/Experience


  • Successful track record in the corporate affairs field with marketing and corporate communications expertise, internal, external, and global communications experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict management, influencing and communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to successfully lead a team in a highly complex, multi-unit, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to understand and communicate financial performance and business strategies.
  • At least 10 years of progressive management level experience in the areas of corporate affairs, corporate reputation strategy, and crisis management.
  • Demonstrated excellent public speaking skills with experience presenting to high-profile groups and organizations.
  • Ability and experience in establishing and maintaining favorable relations with target group of media.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex business ideas, strategies, and results at the senior executive level.
  • Grace under fire; performs well under pressure and consistently meets deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, public relations, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience leading people and teams.
  • High energy, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well at all levels in a fast-paced environment.
