Optum Financial is building over two decades of healthcare finance experience to deliver innovative solutions across the industry. We are searching for executives with deep lending experience to come join us as we scale a working capital loan solution that operates at the intersection of healthcare and fintech. This is an opportunity to harness the unique platform of Optum (a division of UnitedHealth Group) to bring forward a solution for liquidity in a market that is in high-demand.

Primary Responsibilities
The Vice President of Provider Sales serves as a key resource to identify and develop qualified opportunities into fully executed client relationships between Optum Financial and health systems, hospitals, and other eligible provider entities. This role will work directly in the market to engage c-suite relationships and partner with other Optum and UHG enterprise partners to collaborate on direct market development and referral opportunities to execute on a high-growth part of the Optum Financial business. This role will drive in-depth client discussions presenting Optum Financial’s working capital loan capabilities. He/she will be the primary point of contact pursuing new business relationships with hospitals, health systems, and other large provider/care delivery organizations responding to detailed client questions and leveraging business partners to deliver all necessary information to initiate, expand, or extend a client relationship for Optum Financial.
Duties will include:
- Coordinate communications: Business, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and other Optum partners/teams
- Maintain client relationship to ensure long-term partnership that maximizes potential for Optum Financial with clients
- Establish solid market presence as a representative of Optum Financial with health system c-suite contacts
- Lead or participate in client meetings delivering solid presentation of Optum Financial’s value proposition
- Transition client relationships to client management teams within Optum Bank when appropriate
- Assist product development, marketing, and other internal teams by providing market feedback
- Participate in market events that can generate meaningful relationships and awareness to promote Optum Financial capabilities to target market
- Manage client relationship and Optum executive engagement with clients throughout the partnership development process
- Manage an organized sales process, delivering regular updates on market development strategies, pipeline, and other key indicators of current and future success
- Engage intermediary partners (i.e., financial advisors, consultants, etc.) that can serve as key channel partners
- Present deal models to internal stakeholders to secure approvals
- Collaborate with internal partners that span Optum business units and product lines; develop leveraged model with extended teams to help identify qualified opportunities
- Possess ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high paced, high intensity, and continuously evolving business and market environment

Required Qualifications:
- Experience developing and/or managing client relationships
- Proven full command of Microsoft suite of products, Salesforce.com, and other regularly utilized applications
- Proven success delivering on both regularly scheduled and ad-hoc delivery timelines
- Proven cross-functional relationship building skills
- 15+ years of experience in either banking, finance, consulting, or relevant finance positions with hospitals, health systems, or large provider/care delivery organizations
- Deep knowledge of financial, regulatory, and other market conditions that impact health system business and financial performance
- Proven solid organizational skills to manage recurring and ad-hoc assignments
- Proven track record of producing positive results in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with secure debt, unsecure debt, and structured finance arrangements in the provider market
- Proven ability to possess a solid network of C-suite level contacts at hospitals, health systems, or other large provider/care delivery organizations
- Proven track record of success in a matrix selling environment that demonstrates solid ability to collaborate with teammates
- Knowledge of Optum product portfolio
