Your Opportunity as the Vice President of US Retail Sales-Food & Beverage
Over the past 15 years, at The J.M. Smucker Co., we have dramatically expanded our portfolio, growing from a $200 million business focused on fruit spreads to a multi-category CPG leader generating nearly $7 billion. Now, after making progress on our commitments to be in growing categories and building brands consumers love, we are focused on delivering a new progressive sales strategy to support our growth. In this collaborative role, you will be responsible for the Food & Beverage Retail Sales across all classes of trade including Grocery, Walmart, Club, e-Commerce, and Dollar Channels totaling approximately $4.5 Billion in Net Sales.

The VP of Sales, Food & Beverage will be a key member of the Commercial function, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, & Officer of Commercialization responsible for a meaningful and dynamic team of sales leaders and professionals.
Location: Working remotely in the United States (Expected travel 40%-50%, included but not limited to Orrville Corporate Office, key customers, and team activities)

  • Build capabilities that demonstrate a strategic lens around execution enabling a focus around actionable insights and influential relationships that drive an impact
  • Engage internally and externally to help guide strategic brand building in support of market share growth
  • Lead a large team with resonance and seamlessly engage with cross-functional partners to drive a cohesive vision
  • Leverage data to make short-term and long-term strategic decisions

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
  • A data-driven approach and experience leveraging new/emerging technologies to drive competitive advantage
  • Experience building multi-year joint business plans, inclusive of insights, category management, innovation, marketing, supply chain etc.
  • Recognized transformation experience and track record, specifically setting a next-level vision and building teams and capabilities to deliver
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Visionary, inclusive leader with deep experience in the CPG Industry (specifically Grocery/Center store categories)
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding large cross-functional teams, across different geographies while developing talent and organizational capabilities
  • 10+ years of strategic and executional sales leadership experience, across multiple classes of trade with a deep understanding of the omni-channel landscape
