Job Overview
Qualifications
Mission: accelerate Agile and product-led transformation at Stellantis. In order to innovate faster, improve customer lifetime value and accelerate the SW flywheel, we need to move away from project led to product-led model and restructure the ways of working accordingly.
To do that successfully, we need to change 3 things:
1) what we fund and what we build (products, not projects)
2) how we build and deploy products
3) how we choose problems to solve.
Necessary skills and background
– Team Development
A VP delivers value through their organization. The single most important responsibility of any VP is to develop a strong team of agile and transformation coaches. This means making recruiting, training and ongoing coaching the top priority.
A VP is a manager of managers, and these managers need to be great performers. For this position, you need to ensure you are hiring someone that has proven the ability to develop others. They should have a track record of identifying and recruiting potential talent, and then working actively and continuously with those people to address their weaknesses and exploit their strengths.
– Execution
All the great vision and Agile trainings in the world doesn’t mean much if you can’t get the product idea from concept to live to site. VP of Agile transformation can set up the right metrics to measure development velocity and Agile readiness. They work side by side with product and engineering leads to find bottlenecks and improve the process step by step. They set up the right training and evangelism organisation to educate and inform the teams about the new ways of working.
VP of Agile transformation is an expert on modern forms of product-led organisations, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development process – not only Agile methodologies. We are looking to improve processes in conjunction, and even though this role is not personally responsible for Product operations, it is expected to work in collaboration with them.
To execute effectively at Stellantis, VP of AT also needs proven strong skills especially in stakeholder management and internal evangelism. This leader must be able to inspire and motivate the company and get everyone moving in the same direction.
– Agile & Product Culture (innovation culture)
A strong agile&product culture means that the team understands the importance of continuous and rapid testing and learning. They understand that they need to make mistakes in order to learn, but they need to make them quickly and mitigate the risks. They understand the need for continuous innovation. They know that great products are the result of true collaboration. They respect and value their PMs, designers and engineers. They understand the power of a motivated product team.
A strong VP will understand the importance of a strong Agile&product culture, and will be able to give real examples of her own experiences with product culture and have concrete plans for instilling this culture in your company.
– Experience
At a minimum, VP product has a combination of a strong technology background with an understanding of the economics and dynamics of Automotive business and market.
Responsibilities include:
Own the Global product strategies and product roadmaps for your area. Have deep understanding of customer problems space (WHY do we want to solve certain problems)
Translate the product strategy vision into action by executing on business case development, competitive analysis, product-market fit, product differentiation, product roadmaps. Answer the question WHAT we want to build
