The Vice President, Construction is responsible for developing and executing the long-range strategic roadmap and growth strategy related to construction, store remodeling, industrial, Fulfillment Services (FS), new store, and Health & Wellness (H&W), and special project construction. The role involves managing a team and overseeing various aspects of construction, including store remodels, warehouse builds, fulfillment center construction, and special projects.
Key responsibilities of the Vice President, Construction include:
Store Remodel Construction: Overseeing all construction-related aspects of remodels, including expansions, rebuilds, plumbing, refrigeration, etc. Establishing strategies for remodel cycles, prioritization, and process optimization.
Industrial and FS Construction: Overseeing construction-related aspects for massive builds such as warehouses and new/remodeled Fulfillment Centers & Distribution Centers (FCs & DCs). Responsible for HVAC/Refrigeration end of life and maintaining schedules.
Special Project Construction: Handling all construction-related aspects for areas apart from new builds and remodels. Developing long-term and short-term strategies for each strategic pillar related to construction, ensuring integration, and meeting customer expectations.
New Store and H&W Construction: Managing third-party construction teams for new store builds, Health & Wellness (H&W) construction, and Supply Chain construction.
Team Alignment: Overseeing a high-performing team that prioritizes the customer in all construction decisions. Providing vision clarity, strategic thought leadership, setting high standards, and fostering dedication and innovation.
Talent Development: Identifying and selecting qualified direct reports, providing input on associate talent throughout the organization, and establishing human capital direction. Proactively addressing talent gaps and upgrading talent. A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management, Technology, or a related field is preferred.
