Job Description


How You'll Make an Impact:


As a Technical Recruiter at thredUP, you will play a crucial role in identifying, engaging, and hiring top-tier technical talent to support our organization's growth and innovation. You will act as a trusted advisor and consultant to senior technical stakeholders. You will define and develop strategic hiring plans to meet hiring forecasts, and creatively source top-tier technical talent with a diverse range of experience and functional areas.


You'll report to the Director of People while also working closely with our Lead People Business Partner, playing a critical role in defining our technical recruitment roadmap.


This is a Contract to Hire position and will be based in Oakland, CA or Scottsdale, AZ.


In This Role You’ll Get To:


  • Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and engage passive and active candidates.
  • Conduct thorough interviews to assess candidates' technical skills, experiences, and cultural alignment with the organization.
  • Utilize data and analytics to track key recruitment metrics and drive continuous improvement in the recruitment process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, providing a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Stay current on industry trends and market dynamics to provide insights on competitive hiring landscapes.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and negotiating offers.
  • Leverage your deep industry expertise and network to identify and engage top technical talent - immediate hiring needs include software engineering, data science & analytics, growth marketing, etc.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand technical hiring needs, role requirements, and team dynamics.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination of the hiring process, including interview panels, assessments, and feedback sessions.


What We’re Looking For:


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in recruitment practices.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Workday Recruiting ATS.
  • Experience leveraging a variety of sourcing and recruiting tools.
  • 5+ years of Recruiting Experience and 3+ years of Technical Recruiting experience.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable to change.
  • Established network within the technical community. Ideally in the Bay Area and/or Scottsdale, AZ (where our two corporate offices are located and the majority of our US corporate employees are based).
  • Experience developing and refining interview processes and candidate engagement strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to close offers and secure top talent.
  • Proven track record of success in Technical Recruitment. Focus on Software Engineering, Data Science and Analytics, Web Development and Front-End/Back-End Engineering, Machine Learning, Mobile App Development, Technical Leadership, UI/UX, Product Engineering & Design, Growth Marketing (and more!) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to report to our Oakland, CA or Scottsdale, AZ office 3 days per week. This is not a remote eligible role.


This Contract to Hire role pays between $39 and $79 per hour, and your actual pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
