Job Summary
We are seeking an Associate Asset Manager to join the company’s Asset Management team. Working in partnership with Blackstone and April Housing leadership, the Associate Asset Manager will assist in implementing the strategic direction for their region and will be responsible for maximizing the operating performance and value of their assigned portfolio.
As of the date on which this job advertisement is posted, the Company anticipates that the base salary range for this role is $99,000-$137,000, 20% bonus target (this represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base salary range for this position). Total direct compensation may also include discretionary bonus and/or incentive compensation. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with all partners, management companies, and internal departments
  • Recommending methods to strategically improve portfolio performance to improve cash flow and increase value
  • Analyze neighborhood or market conditions and trends, identifying the potential impact on the existing portfolio
  • Prepare investment recommendation reports for new construction and rehabilitation including a market assessment, proposed construction scope, and accompanying operating proforma
  • Reviewing monthly and year to date property and portfolio operating performance
  • Schedule and evaluate periodic compliance reviews
  • Physically inspect each property within their portfolio with regular cadence
  • Prepare periodic property management company reviews based on asset performance and in-person talent evaluations
Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills

  • Personal commitment to making a positive difference in affordable housing
  • 5+ years of real estate experience, with a preference for multifamily asset or portfolio management
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency required
  • Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Real Estate or Finance, but not a requirement
  • Experience in Affordable Housing preferred, but not required
