The Role

We are looking for a diligent and highly motivated individual to join the growing Cypress tax department. This position (title depends on the candidate's experience) will be primarily focusing on meeting the Company's tax administrative, compliance and reporting needs, especially in the area of indirect tax. The ideal candidate is a team player who has experience and a solid understanding of common tax rules and regulations, knowledgeable in accounting principles and is willing to dive in, learn and take the lead on projects assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as requested by the management
• Maintain a record of all incoming mail notices and associated sourcing process
• Assist with coordinating and ensuring the timely filing of the Company's federal, state and local income tax returns, including reviewing the workpapers prepared by the external service providers, as needed.
• Assist with annual personal and real property tax filing process
• Lead monthly vendor tax information review and annual 1099 reporting process
• Identify process improvements for various tax processes, implement changes for best practices
• Assist in the resolution of federal, state and local tax notices and audits
• Assist with maintaining indirect tax matrix and prepare indirect tax memo (sales and use tax, personal property tax and real property tax)
• Maintain and update listing of all company-owned real property
• Maintain a record and coordinate all tax payments
• Perform sales and use tax monthly filing review/preparation and exemption form issuance and tracking
• Assist with other indirect tax compliance and research

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Must have the ability to multi-task and work within tight timeframes and deadlines
• BS in Accounting or Finance (or related major)
• Superior interpersonal abilities and a team player. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
• Must be detail oriented, resourceful and organized
• Must be proactive and willing to handle multiple projects with competing priorities, with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• 1-2 years of tax or accounting experience preferred

We are seeking qualified candidates available to start immediately.

Location: Santa Monica CA

Compensation: $55-70K plus 10% bonus
