Overview


Based out of the New York City corporate office, the Sr. Retail Director will be responsible for guiding the Maison's Americas retail network, meeting, and exceeding targets for sales volume, growing brand awareness through client outreach, and supervising and directing the client experience through the direction of store leaders. This role develops strategies via strong cross-functional collaborations and leadership skills for a brand that has clear network expansion and growth plans in place in the near term.


Business Vision:


  • Collaborate with Senior Management in setting the strategy for long range business and opportunities for all stores (e.g., client growth, brand growth, market share growth, profitability)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the local markets and business environment trends that include competitors’ business activities and overall trends
  • Partner with Sr. Management and all corporate partners to support the strong network expansion plan in place and all key elements of new store openings
  • Support the President on business development by remaining current on the retail real estate and business trends in the regions, and by making recommendations for store renovations/upgrades/expansion in order to increase sales of existing markets and develop new ones
  • This role will sit on the corporate management committee and partner cross functionally to translate the values of the Maison and build the vision and tone for the stores while contributing to the overall vision for the brand
  • Lead the stores to drive business daily, weekly, monthly and annually with a constant focus on Client Experience and Client Development
  • Mentor and support store leaders to develop market specific business plans built in a client-centric way that will drive traffic and further develop the client base


Leadership


  • Build store cultures that are conducive to healthy team work and collaboration between all members of the teams.
  • Develop Store Directors and Managers to deliver a strong customer experience in all stores
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the Maison in all key brand moments whether in stores, at Paris shows or other client activations
  • Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate key responsibilities and standard processes to store management to ensure smooth flow of operations within region
  • Review store environments and key performance indicators within region to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement and mentor store management teams to act and achieve operational goals


Sales/Store Performance


  • Continuously empower and mentor teams to meet sales and productivity goals
  • Develop and evolve standardized staffing model to: better align employee scheduling to store traffic (MTT); optimize FTEs to improve store sales potential (NET $/FTE, average cost model); review store structure to seek opportunities for client centric initiatives; discover customized services to increase conversion/ ATV / cross selling (UPT). Partner with HR & Maison to ensure alignment of network.
  • Work with each store management team on strategies to capitalize on sales and improve customer experience within Givenchy guidelines (displays, traffic patterns, etc.)


Profile


Human Resources:


  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, peers, supervisors and the NY and Paris corporate teams.
  • Assess, mentor, and develop teams in all areas of performance, retail OMR and monthly one-one-one’s.
  • Work on career path initiatives to promote from within and provide mobility opportunities for staff. Develop strategies for entire retail network.
  • Implement retention initiatives and collaborate with Human Resources to provide developmental opportunities for store teams.
  • Communicate corporate initiatives and directives to field management and teams through daily or weekly meetings and bulletins.


Work Requirements:


  • Able to travel domestically 35% of the time and sometimes at short notice.
  • Able to engage in an internationally connected environment – Ad-hoc availability during business hours while in the US.
  • Open to travel internationally for periods up to 1 week at a time approximately 4 times per year.


Profile:


  • Multi-store experience with a record of achieved sales goals.
  • Written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • 10+ years minimum of progressively responsible luxury retail management experience with P&L responsibility
  • Track record as a sales leader with ability to build and motivate sales teams with a clear set of challenging objectives
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • Analytical and strategy building skills


The compensation for this position ranges from $199,500 - $250,000 annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
