Job Description
Responsible for the development and execution of TRWW Marketing strategy for Clinique. The successful candidate will design a data-based marketing strategy and initiate key activities together with Travel Retail Regions to help the brand accelerate its retail sales in the channel thus gaining market share while building brand equity and deliver profitable financial growth. #ELCTravelRetail
Strategic Planning
  • Leverages & adapts global Clinique strategies to the Travel retail channel, including travel exclusive activations.
  • Pilots TRWW marketing calendar. Successfully deploys strategy, calendar and recommended actions to TR regional teams. Supports regional teams by providing twice yearly deployment presentations.
  • Develops yearly marketing strategy and plans for Clinique brand in TR Channel to drive retail sales + market share gains and to deliver on financial targets.
  • Uses a data-driven and financial mindset in making decisions to support the financial sustainable growth of the business from a sales and profit standpoint.
  • Decides on key marketing investments aimed at driving both short- and long-term impact for the Clinique brand; manages Travel Retail Worldwide (TRWW) marketing budget.
  • Establishes key priorities between categories, product franchises and targeted passengers in partnership with regional teams.
Consumer & Category understanding
  • Be a role model to the extended team in becoming the category and channel expert, fully understanding market (beauty and travel retail) trends, traveler behaviors and competitive landscape.
Consumer Marketing / Consumer Engagement
  • Identifies opportunities for 360 consumer activations covering in-store, online, communication, educational and promotional components.
  • Leads in partnership with global brand teams the creation of travel exclusive campaigns from briefing stage to in-field execution, inclusive of exclusive video, still and digital asset development.
  • Partners with Store Design and Visual Merchandising teams to leverage counters as story-telling assets to feature our product and campaign priorities.
  • Works with regional & account teams to develop activations with retailers through events, high priority placement or outposts.
  • Analyzes and takes learnings from activations to keep on nurturing brand equity and accelerate recruitment and retail sales in a profitable way.
  • Works with TR regional marketing teams and New York based integrated marketing teams to digitally target travelers through a mix of paid and social media.
Product Portfolio Management
  • Identifies, Develops and Manages Travel Exclusive SKUs and Formats for existing and new products.
  • Tracks and analyzes retail sales and gross sales performance by product/franchise/ location ; applies learnings to course correct below par performances and amplify successful initiatives
  • Works with Demand Planning and Inventory teams to manage day to day operations of the brand including out of stock issues, excess inventory and service levels. Partners with Demand Planning team to establish forecast at product level.
  • Provides guidelines to regional travel retail assortments to better address specific passenger needs
  • Develops launch plans for new products covering 4Ps and consumer engagement activations and deploys 360 TR launch books to TR Regional teams.
  • Leads SKU management / line edit analysis and drives category reviews to improve SKU productivity.
  • Selects Key New Product Launches to be activated in Travel Retail Division.
Leadership
  • Able to partner with global marketing teams, regional affiliate teams and TR cross-functional teams to achieve brand and business objectives.
  • Leads by example to foster an encouraging, respectful, and cooperative team environment where everyone is valued in a spirit of inclusion, diversity and equity.
  • Coaches and leads team to execute with excellence and motivate with strong team leadership. Develops New York based marketing team, coaches and influences regional TR marketing teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Financial and strong analytical skills
  • College/University graduate, MBA a plus
  • Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and a team player attitude across cultures and different time zones
  • Good understanding of APAC/China market dynamics with a focus on the CTC (Chinese Traveling Consumer) would be a plus
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Development and applied marketing background
  • Position requires 10+ years experience in Marketing or related field
  • Understanding the commercial aspect of the business
  • Excellent organizational skills
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $149,500 to $257,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
