Job Description
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and talented Senior Vice President of Technology to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a key member of our executive leadership team and will be responsible for providing strategic vision, leadership, and execution to achieve the company's goals and objectives. As a technology company in the travel industry, were focused on building world-class user experiences to help travelers explore more.
This role will report directly to one of the Co-Founders of our rapidly growing, PE-backed company. As our SVP of Technology, you will lead the development of our travel software products and services, ensuring that they are innovative, secure, and user-friendly. Speaking of users, we have 4 different user types were building solutions for: travelers, travel companies (e.g., cruise lines and resorts), travel agencies, and of course your fellow employees. You will also be responsible for managing the company's technology resources and teams, including software developers, IT professionals, and other technical personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the executive team and all departments within the organization
Develop and implement short and long-term strategic plans to achieve business goals and objectives
Ensure the company's financial performance and growth objectives are achieved through effective management of resources
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability throughout the organization
Lead, mentor, and develop teams to achieve high performance and deliver results
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, travelers, independent agencies, suppliers, investors, and industry influencers
Monitor and evaluate market trends and competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities
Ensure that the company's technology infrastructure and systems are robust, reliable, and efficient
Lead and manage a team of software developers, IT professionals, and other technical personnel, ensuring that they are motivated, engaged, and productive.
Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
Develop and maintain performance metrics to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of business operations.
Other tasks as assigned or needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Superior understanding and experience with managing and/or developing software, data, security, infrastructure, hardware, and emerging technologies.
Experience managing budgets and developing financial plans for tech-related initiatives.
Experience managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and improving Avoyas culture
Sound business acumen and ability to analyze data to make tactical and strategic decisions
Ability to identify and assess complex business issues and develop innovative solutions to drive faster growth and higher profitability
Admirable leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at a time.
Ability to travel to home office or other locations as needed.

Due to the cyclical nature of the travel industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the business.
