Job Summary

Vice President, Information Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the management of the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and technology initiatives. This position plays a critical role in aligning technology with business goals, optimizing IT operations, and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements. The Vice President of IT leads a team of IT professionals and collaborates with other departments to drive innovation, enhance productivity, and support the organization’s overall growth.


Key Job Responsibilities

IT Strategy and Planning:

· Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and long-term vision.

· Identify and prioritize technology initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and competitive advantage.

· Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate technology into the overall business strategy.

IT Infrastructure and Operations:

· Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and data centers.

· Ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems and services, minimizing downtime and maximizing system reliability.

· Implement ITIL best practices and service management frameworks to enhance IT service delivery.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management:

· Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks from internal and external threats.

· Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security gaps and develop mitigation plans.

· Establish incident response protocols and business continuity plans to handle cybersecurity incidents and emergencies effectively.

Application Development and Software Management:

· Lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications that support business processes and improve operational efficiency.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

· Evaluate and implement modern development methodologies and technologies to accelerate innovation.

IT Budgeting and Financial Management:

· Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for technology projects and ongoing operations.

· Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain financial discipline within the IT department.

Vendor Management and Partnerships:

· Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants.

· Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with vendors to obtain the best value for the organization.

· Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

Leadership and Talent Development:

· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

· Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for IT staff.

· Attract and retain top IT talent to build a skilled and motivated workforce.

IT Governance and Compliance:

· Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

· Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and data protection guidelines.

· Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation to demonstrate adherence to IT controls.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, such as IT Director, or Vice President of IT.

· Excellent strategic planning and business acumen to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.

· In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems architecture, and cybersecurity best practices.

· Demonstrated experience in leading complex technology projects and driving innovation.

· Prior experience with ERP evaluations and implementations

· Exceptional leadership and team management abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing IT teams.

· Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and executive management.

· Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and vendor contract negotiation.

· Understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends and their potential impact on the organization.

· Demonstrated track record of successful IT project management and execution.

· Strong leadership and team-building skills.
