Job Description

Location: 100% remote, hours PST or CST, must be local in the US
Job Type: Salaried contract through end of Q1 2024 with potential for renewal
Compensation Range: $130,000-$150,000
Our team is actively seeking a Senior Marketing Manager for our oil and energy client. The ideal candidate for this assignment is a hands-on marketing communications subject matter expert with creative strategy, agency management and stakeholder engagement best practices. They lead and influence cross-functional teams in the development, execution, and measurement of multi-media communications campaigns in collaboration with in-house and external agency partners.
Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an initial / primary point of contact for all internal clients, partners and external agencies.
  • Hold customers, partners, and agencies accountable and escalates issues when timing is not met.
  • Gain alignment / drive decision-making across functions and organizational levels to drive progress.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Proactively mitigate risk; when unprecedented challenges or issues arise, identify appropriate solutions, validate with the team, create transparency with stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage stakeholders at all levels of the org to drive visibility and buy-in.
  • Act as a marketing communications subject matter expert for the client, guiding them through all phases of campaign strategy and execution.
  • Project-specific responsibilities / expectations:
    • Operate as an extension of the Corporate Affairs team, collaborating with internal customers and partners (i.e., brand, product, and legal) to support development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns.

    • Proactively monitor project progress vs. plan; lead check-in meetings to align various workstreams.
    • Hold customers, partners, and agencies accountable and escalates issues when timing is not met.
    • Responsible for project management routines and tools (i.e., SharePoint, MS Teams, Adobe Workfront).
  • Client Management: Partner with Account Director to nurture client relationships/drive service excellence.
  • Scope Development: Lead development of SOWs that outline objectives, deliverables, budget, and timing.
  • Make recommendations and ways-of-working to drive integration / collective success.
  • Project Management: Own and manage individual projects as part of a program, or ad hoc needs.
  • Thought leadership: Formulate points-of-view and recommendations founded in solid rationale.
  • Team Integration: Collaborate and coordinate the integration of cross-functional teams and partner
  • Managing Up: Use judgement to advise top management/provide ongoing updates on your work.
  • Prioritization: Strategically evaluate/ prioritize work based on business priority and team capacity.
  • Proactively monitor project progress vs. plan; lead check-in meetings to align various workstreams.
  • Support clients in the development of business strategies that translate to actionable marketing objectives.
  • Finance: Develop, monitor, and reconcile budgets to keep projects on time and budget.
  • Long-term Planning: Collaborate with Account Director, Clients, and internal Strategy/Creative leads to proactively plan/develop forecasts for future work with projected timing and resources.
  • Proactively work to deepen own understanding of customers' business and stakeholder landscape.
  • Communication: Inform, influence, and negotiate; advanced presentation skills, MS PPT heavy user.
  • Responsible for project management routines and tools (i.e., SharePoint, MS Teams, Adobe Workfront).
  • Program Planning: Develop program plans that drive integrated strategy and creative execution.
  • Develop / manage integrated project plans with schedule / dependencies between teams clearly identified.
  • Operate as an extension of the Corporate Affairs team, collaborating with internal customers and partners (i.e., brand, product, and legal) to support development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Resourcing/Scheduling: Collaborate with functional leads and/or external agency partners to identify resource needs, develop integrated project schedules representing all workstreams.

Qualifications:

  • Effective presenter comfortable leading meetings in a small or large setting.

  • Comfortable navigating uncertainty, reducing complexity and identifying 'fit-for-purpose' solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and engage appropriate team members as needed to drive accountability, provide subject matter expertise and inform collective recommendations.
  • Proficient in developing integrated program plans, briefs, RASCI's, proposals (scope of work and budget), workback schedules and workflows in support of corporate communication deliverables.
  • Experience in Energy Sector and/or HR Corporate Function.

    • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and engage appropriate team members as needed to drive accountability, provide subject matter expertise and inform collective recommendations.

    • Well-rounded executional experience spanning print/static media (PowerPoint, collateral, signage, print production), digital media (email, social, web), video production (film, animation, broadcast, digital/web use), photography (b-roll, asset capture, staged), and events (virtual and in-person).
    • Organized and detail oriented with ability to apply quality control practices to all processes.
    • Able to manage high-volume of tasks with strong sense of urgency.
  • Hands-on experience managing creative campaign development, production fulfillment and deployment (i.e., traffic placements, rotations etc.) across paid, earned, owned and social media
  • Marketing Communications Acumen:
    • Demonstrated experience managing full lifecycle marketing communications campaigns.
    • Familiarity with marcom strategy activities including market research, insights, KPIs, target audience identification / segmentation, communications / channel planning and creative briefs.
    • Hands-on experience managing creative campaign development, production fulfillment and deployment (i.e., traffic placements, rotations etc.) across paid, earned, owned and social media
    • Exposure to campaign measurement and optimization processes.
  • Confident communicator with ability to persuade, influence and negotiate.
  • Experience with project management software is required (familiarity with Workfront is a plus).
  • Advanced Microsoft skills including PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full lifecycle marketing communications campaigns.
  • Proven experience translating business strategies into marketing objectives, communications strategy development, creative campaign fulfillment across all forms of media and campaign measurement.
  • Bachelor's degree.
