This position will be responsible for leading efforts to deliver secure, valid, highly available enterprise data. Working closely with leaders across the enterprise, the Senior Director, Data & Reporting is responsible for the management, availability, and governance of enterprise data. This key role is responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders to understand analytics needs, business goals, gaps and issues, to create relevant data and technology strategies that enable business outcomes. Reporting to the CIO, this role provides leadership for data integrity, modeling, security and performance tuning in a 24x7 environment consisting of hybrid-cloud based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Chair a governance group of data stewards / owners around the organization to ensure alignment around data definitions, standards, strategy and priorities
- Ensures consistency of process and usage, and champions best practices in data management. Oversees data accuracy processes, goals and assessment
- Lead development and delivery of enterprise visualizations, reports, dashboards and self-service analytics. Ensure technologies continue to meet evolving business needs.
- Own data warehouse, analytics and reporting platform planning and solution delivery
- Act as a champion for the correct usage of data across the enterprise. Ensure alignment on data lineage , sources of truth , and correct usage across the business
- Act as a solution provider to the business by understanding business needs and translating those into data and analytics solutions that are aligned with our technology strategy
- Works with internal stakeholders to develop strategies for leveraging data to gain deeper business insights
- Lead cross functional prioritization of business requirements for new / enhanced data sources, reports and dashboards
- Have a comprehensive understanding of data workflows and business processes to function as a data SME
- Define and implement policies and processes for data quality, data security, and governance
- Lead efforts to resolve data discrepancies and reporting issues leveraging technical knowledge and key relationships in the business and IT
Qualifications
- Problem-solving and continuous improvement attitude
- Demonstrable experience leading implementation of enterprise analytics and reporting technologies in the Hospitality companies of similar size to CHILDREN'S MERCY HOSPITALS & CLINICS
- 1-2+ years experience leading an offshore team
- High attention to detail and w ell-organized
- Experience working in a n environment with Agile methodology
- Demonstrated sense of logic, creativity, decision making, and problem resolution
- 1+ years e xperience with current database platforms and analytics tools e.g. SQL server, Tableau, Snowflake and Alteryx
- Strong follow-up, critical thinking, and communication skills
- 1+ years experience leading analytics and data teams in IT , and working with a distributed analytics and BI team
- Leading a data team within IT at a company with a decentralized approach to analytics and BI
- Familiarity with the design and implementation of database and analytics platform architecture s
- 1-2+ years e xperience designing, implementing and supporting Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Governance capabilities
