About Delivering Good


Delivering Good is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides people impacted by poverty and tragedy with new merchandise donated by retailers and manufacturers. Since 1985, Delivering Good has distributed over $3 billion of new clothing, home goods, toys, furniture, books, and other consumer products through its network of more than 800 community partners, offering hope, dignity and self-esteem to at-risk children, families, and individuals. By uniting retailers, manufacturers, foundations, and individuals, Delivering Good strives to help create a more equitable world where children, adults and families facing economic, medical, social, and environmental challenges have useful items needed to overcome adversity and achieve their full potential.


Position Description


Reporting to the Director of Development, the Senior Corporate Business Development Consultant works within a nonprofit mission-based, social impact environment with a focus on building a portfolio of corporate business including but not limited to corporate sponsorship, cause marketing, employee giving, and corporate volunteer engagement. You are a born networker, outcomes focused on driving revenue and thriving in an outward facing role attending events, making new strategic contacts with corporate leaders, and developing on-going impactful business relationships. As a strategic thinker, you will create new corporate partnerships of mutual benefit – meeting corporate objectives and providing Delivering Good with revenue both unrestricted and restricted, funding for product campaigns and developing employee volunteer engagement.


Key Areas Of Responsibilities


Build Prospect Funnel


  • Create a strong funnel of corporate partnership prospects via research, strategic conversations with Board leaders, Associate Council members and by continually expanded the Delivering Good network of corporate leaders, overseeing cause marketing, employee giving, corporate volunteer engagement and lead event sponsorship.
  • Strategically build on-going relationships with potential for multi-year and multi-level partnerships
  • Establish and meet goals for the number of new business pitches to be made quarterly.


Meet Corporate Business Objectives


  • Understand corporate goals and work to create mutually beneficial partnerships that meet strategic corporate objectives and align with Delivering Good’s revenue and mission goals.


Close New Business


  • Engage in negotiation of legal agreements and collaborate with legal counsel to develop mutually beneficial terms of partnership.
  • Close new business initiatives that include but are not limited to cause marketing (such as register round-up, buy-one give one) employee giving, lead corporate event sponsorship and corporate volunteer engagement programs with measurable outcomes.


Responsible for Execution of New Corporate Partnerships


  • When appropriate, collaborate with the product team to incorporate in-kind donations as part of cause marketing campaigns.
  • Manage all aspects of meeting Delivering Good’s obligations as part of the agreement for corporate partnership.


Qualifications


  • Natural networker with outstanding people skills and a customer service focus.
  • Outstanding project management skills with the ability to drive multiple, complex projects forward.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platform required, knowledge of Salesforce and email marketing platform desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of at least one of the Delivering Good product industries (e.g., retail/wholesale, fashion, children’s, home) desirable.
  • Passion for building business relationships in the service of mission-based outcomes and social justice.
  • Proven success developing cause-marketing campaigns that drive unrestricted revenue and brand awareness highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, new business development, strategic partnerships and/or marketing.


Compensation And Benefits


A six-month independent contract at $50,000 for a 40-hour week. After the six-month contractor engagement, the selected contractor will be considered for an anticipated, full-time salaried senior manager position with attractive benefits.
