Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the marketing and sales of GPC products assigned to the Specialty Ingredients group.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Travel as needed to customer locations
  • Work cross functionally with customers R&D, Marketing, and Purchasing Departments.
  • Establish, develop and retain customer relationships
  • Develop and maintain a high degree of product and market knowledge
  • Marketing and sale of products assigned to the specialty ingredients group
  • Communicates effectively with others inside the organization
  • Strong listening and communication skills are required
  • Develops and maintains contracts necessary to general customer and competitive intelligence
  • Participates in all company related events
  • Create and maintain accurate sales records and information in customer database
  • Participates in trade association activities and maintains memberships in organizations as needed
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work and perform within the framework of the Company’s long term objectives
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to excel independently within an assigned sales territory
  • Track record of developing and implementing targeted sales strategies
  • Self-reliant, resourceful, and collaborative
  • Ability to understand market dynamics related to the industries we serve
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Driven to achieve performance goals and objectives both long and short term
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of three years of technical or food ingredient sales experience

TRAVEL:
Travel required (25%+)
