CAMS corporate is seeking a Renewable Asset Manager in Houston, Texas or Raleigh, North Carolina. This position reports directly to the President of Asset Management. The successful candidate will manage a team of diversified subject matter experts to provide a full suite of asset management services to wind and other renewable energy resource owners.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Organize and implement a business plan that meets the objectives of the owners, project structure and contracts.
- Create a team environment oriented in trust, open communication and creative thinking resulting in a cohesive team effort.
- Maintain thorough awareness of commercial, financial, and technical issues related to assigned projects.
- Represent the project investment in internal discussions regarding current status, future results, strategy and growth.
- Optimize all elements of the asset commensurate with the appropriate risk profile.
- Make decisions involving all aspects of plant level operations, commercial hedging and risk management, regulatory, governmental, and local political outreach, property tax implications, finance, and project debt considerations
- Lead internal review process to report on the current and forecast performance of investment.
- Manage the asset and administer owners’ and the project companies’ obligations and responsibilities under the project contracts while maximizing the value of the asset consistent with the owner’s direction.
- Represent the company’s interest at the project level to assure maximum profitability and return on investment including participation in and scheduling the budget processes.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators of the project and report to relevant business partners.
- Provide support to project staff to resolve project, contractual, commercial, or regulatory issues.
- Assure timely reporting of performance results by project personnel to corporate groups.
- Strategic management skills.
- Stay actively engaged in market research activities and reassessing business objectives as markets and competitive conditions evolve
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering, is required
- Skilled in negotiating and administering contracts and agreements, budget preparation, economic analysis.
- Customer focused personality, comfortable using critical reasoning and judgement to make good decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable knowledge of power plant systems, operational requirements, safety and compliance requirements; effective management practices; property and casualty insurance; planning, budgeting and financial assessment; project financing and credit facilities.
- Strong leadership skills, including a demonstrated proactive work ethic. As part of a lean and dynamic team, the candidate must be able to plan, oversee, and personally execute numerous projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities.
- At least 3 years of asset management experience in utility scale renewable or thermal energy operations.
- Sound analytical skills to compile, as well as dissect and interpret financial and operational information. Disseminate updates to senior management and partners.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
- Maintain current, high-level understanding of the relevant ISO/RTO rules and regulations
