What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?
Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
About the Asset Manager - Terminals Position
As an Asset Manager for Terminals, you are responsible for managing and growing the Product Distribution Terminal Business. This position will direct the day-to-day commercial management of the terminal business, having responsibility for the terminal business P&L. With an emphasis on customer engagement, you will support existing customers as well as cultivate new customer relationships to drive growth. The Terminal Asset Manager will also direct the evaluation, development, and implementation of both near and long-term terminal business opportunities which create enterprise value. In addition, this position will support the growth of the terminal business through both acquisitions and greenfield developments. Ideal individual will be a self-starter and have a strong entrepreneurial orientation.
What You Get to Do:
  • Work with your counterparts in Operations to manage and support various business activities; from coordinating ethanol, butane and transmix blending to RVP transitions to supporting and enhancing systems used by customers.
  • Mange commercial contracts with third parties which impact the P&L and or operational performance of the terminal, such as storage agreements with CPC.
  • Lead and direct activities related to asset optimization and identifying efficiencies that improve business margins and support Colonial’s business results.
  • Actively source new customers and comfortable engaging customers.
  • Lead and/or direct negotiations with existing and prospective customers of Colonial’s terminal assets.
  • Meet with all terminal customers on an on-going basis, gaining customers’ perspective by consulting with them and helping them evaluate and solve their problems/needs.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Familiarity with customer sales cycle.
  • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
  • Ideally, 3+ years of experience in midstream or related energy business, with a preference given to roles in commercial and business development for terminalling assets. Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Solid negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, have phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.
  • Knowledge in the refined products space, from refining to terminals to retail.
  • Skilled ability to think conceptually or “outside of the box.”
