Job Description

Spencer Ogden is exclusively partnered with a leading Development firm looking to build out their Houston team. The position will include the following:


Overview

The Renewable Energy Director (“Director”) main mission is to develop, operate and maintain the company’s renewable energy presence and involvement in the United States. In achieving these goals, the Director will among other things besides managing the day-to-day operations, pursue opportunities and project leads and collaborate with the renewable energy team and engineering group to satisfy emerging opportunities within the USA market.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Proactively anticipates potential issues, challenges assumptions, and identifies opportunities to circumvent delays
  • Coordinate environmental assessment reporting
  • Assisting in the completion of required reporting functions including but not limiting to Operational reports, established safety reports, environmental reports & SCADA reporting
  • Perform commercial analyses and risk management analyses of renewable energy developments
  • Communicate activities (included but not limited to project development phase reports, project improvement & progress reports, etc.) to executive management and business partners in written, verbal and presentation media
  • Assist Project Owners with suggestions for plant/process CAPEX projects for approval and submission in planned year ahead project budgeting
  • Support the development, operations, tracking and pursuance of project leads in USA
  • Formulate specifications for construction contracts and tender contracts
  • Manage all operations and maintenance activities within established operating guidelines for projects
  • Responsible for executing and operating company’s business growth strategy development and royalty leasing programs
  • Overseeing and management of projects’ subcontractors
  • Conduct necessary research and studies for regional renewable farm projects development and improvements
  • Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with all project participants, including landowners, contractors, governmental bodies, business partners and etc.
  • Represent the company in landowner and community relationships
  • Obtain necessary state and municipal government approvals, for example development permits and environmental assessments


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience in construction management, particularly renewable plant construction
  • Required: Based in Houston, Texas but has the ability and flexibility to travel to project sites located in West Texas and other locations as required for business needs for short and extended period (frequent travel)
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in related field is necessary in engineering or business field (Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • At least 10 years professional & hands on experience in operating renewable farm/power industry in US
  • Experience in managing project finances, renewable farm developments - procedures, market policies and regulations and renewable power reports
  • Required: At least 10 years of asset management experience
  • Required: Renewable Resources Engineering, wind turbine, and/or grid system knowledge
  • Required: At least 8 years of greenfield and business development experience
