"Reassignment & Transfer Opportunities: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent, competitive status as an Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, OR a New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive, service in a title at or above Grade 4, and deemed eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office software and experience processing transactions in the Statewide Financial System (SFS). They will have experience handling telephone calls that require a high level of professionalism; excellent verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; the ability to handle multiple tasks; attention to detail; and the ability to work independently.
The Office Assistant 1 will provide critical administrative support for the Middletown District Office. They will be responsible for triaging telephone calls, organizing the flow of paper in the office, responding to questions concerning policy and procedure, and referring calls to appropriate staff members for technical information.

A $1,543 negotiated Mid-Hudson adjustment will be added to the salary. "
