Position Overview
The Office of Business Services is seeking to hire a position to perform mail room duties, including receiving incoming mail, preparing outgoing mail and operating mailroom equipment. This position also assists with special mail runs and pickups to/from locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Sets up, operates and maintains a Paragon/postage metered mail machine, envelope sealer as well as applies postage to first class, presort and certified mail.
- Operates and processes computer generated listings, as well as official Agency distributions verifying compliance to Agency, State and Federal Regulations.
- Serves as a local backup driver on mail runs traveling to and from all DHS Administrative offices.
- Sets up, operates and maintains a variety of non-intelligent computer drive, optic scanning inserters for highly confidential notices to customers and providers.
- Maintains personal work area and ensures common areas are picked up, clean, and organized daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope duties enumerated above.
- Sets up, operates and maintains Video Jet, address labeling, permit and presorting system for highly confidential customer and provider notices, handbooks and mass mailings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
- Requires one (1) year of experience in the print reproduction trade.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- One (1) year of experience working with numerical data for a public or private organization.
- One (1) year of experience operating a variety of high-volume mail equipment machines.
- One (1) year of experience operating a sorting and inserting mail equipment machines.
- One (1) year of experience in maintenance and repair of mail equipment machines.
- One (1) year of experience following oral and written instructions.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to operate a material handling equipment.
- Requires the ability to travel locally.
- Requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs. and ability to stand for long periods of time.
