Job Description
Microsoft Philanthropies is a global, multi-disciplinary team that brings together corporate social responsibility, sales, and engineering functions to help drive inclusive economic growth. Our mission is to empower nonprofits and communities with digital and AI capabilities to drive inclusive economic growth. We focus on digital transformation and digital skilling initiatives which we activate through the nonprofit community, our employee community, and Microsoft priority regions. Partnering with nonprofits, private sector, and government, we invest in local and global initiatives to help build digital and AI capacity for nonprofits, workforce, and government systems.

The Microsoft Philanthropies team is setting up a new Nonprofit Community Capacity team. The goal of the team is to engage, elevate, empower, and convene nonprofits that work with Microsoft. Building and fostering this community will enable continued dialogue, partnership, volunteering, thought leadership, technology adoption and capacity-building for our nonprofit community made up of our grantees, skilling partners and nonprofit technology adopters. The new team will build, inspire, and foster the community of nonprofits supported by Microsoft through an online community platform. The Nonprofit Community platform will be the go-to technology hub to address nonprofit questions about digital transformation, skilling, and AI innovation. The Nonprofit Community Program Manager will report to the new head of the Nonprofit Community Capacity team and is responsible for managing and executing community programs through the Nonprofit Community platform and other channels across Microsoft’s social impact initiatives. This role has core responsibilities to curate and create nonprofit content, drive engagement, and to recruit new nonprofit members to the community platform.

Responsibilities

Community Growth
  • Invite and onboard strategic nonprofit partners and leverage their voices as part of the community platform’s blog and content rooms.
  • Work with technical specialists and the Community Platform Director to run Ask Me Anythings (AMAs) to help address community needs.
  • Coordinate with skilling teams to host active workshops and learning moments around AI and other nonprofit skilling priorities.
  • Drive community platform growth through nonprofits supported by our Microsoft Philanthropies teams including skilling and tech for social impact teams and the active nonprofit partner ecosystem.
  • Involve or engage key nonprofit influencers and their content to drive membership and registrations.
  • Leverage partnerships with other nonprofit groups to build joint community programs for greater impact.
  • Run platform webinars to drive more interest and registration leveraging nonprofit research and influencers.
Community Engagement
  • Analyze engagement across the platform using platform analytics to continue to build more interactive momentum and grow community engagement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage and lead social media channel on LinkedIn with ongoing and new editorial content for our Microsoft for Nonprofits LinkedIn group.
  • Work closely other teams on the recruitment of the nonprofit strategic partners to onboard and drive engagement on our channels.
Community Program Content
  • Execute regular cadence of end-to-end editorial calendar updates on Microsoft Philanthropies announcements, events, and industry moments to centralize calendar across stakeholders who support nonprofits.
  • Lead and publish research for the community that provides compelling content on Artificial Intelligence and other trending topics for nonprofits to respond quickly to sector trends and drive demand, recruit members, and engagement.
  • Curate and repurpose content from Microsoft Philanthropies to create a library of usable and relevant community content.
  • Execute, design or curate key stories from our strategic nonprofit partnerships focused on skilling, innovation, and economic opportunity.
  • Work with the rest of the Nonprofit Community Capacity team to advise on event and platform content and themes as aligned with the Microsoft Philanthropies overall editorial calendar.
Success in this role will require partnership and collaboration across Microsoft Philanthropies and other internal and external partners.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
