Job Description
The Kansas City Mavericks are looking to fill the Manager- Community Relations position. The ideal individual will have a professional demeanor with the ability to communicate clearly to executives at all levels (both internally and externally). Candidate will be detail oriented, well organized, and have the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines. The ability to work independently by taking initiative, recommending solutions, and making informed decisions is a must.

& Essential Functions:
  • Increase Kansas City Mavericks exposure in the community by increasing number of quality events and efficiently utilizing Mavericks sponsored resources
  • Work with other departments to successfully execute team-related community events
  • Responsible for charitable events participated in by the Kansas City Mavericks
  • Maintain organization of donations process and handle continuous donation requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Overall event operation (special events) and management in conjunction with other departments
  • Various other tasks and events as needed
  • Organize and execute team sponsored auctions, both live and web-based

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional, fast-paced office and arena environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional hours of work and flexibility are necessary on evenings, weekends, holidays and extended weekdays as job demands.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Availability and willingness to work all Kansas City Mavericks home games and assigned events
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, with ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal and non-profit relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
