Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a difference using critical thinking and clear, concise writing skills. Join our national team of non-profit leaders solving mobility challenges nationwide.

Organization Overview

ITNAmerica is the first and only national non-profit transportation network for older adults and people with mobility challenges. ITNAmerica’s national headquarters is in Portland, Maine. We support sustainable, community-based transportation by leading a national transportation network grounded in research, technology, policy analysis and education.

Location

Remote. Anywhere in the US with broadband network connectivity.

Summary

In 2022, ITNAmerica received $1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending to launch a public information campaign for America’s Volunteer Driver Center (AVDC) to change the way Americans think about and support community mobility for older adults and people with mobility challenges. AVDC will be to volunteer driver recruitment what the Red Cross is to volunteer blood donation—mobilizing a national effort for a national need.

This role advances AVDC, following a detailed timeline and work plan—first completing the Environmental Scan and then supporting the project’s planning process (technology plan, research plan, marketing plan, sustainability plan). Ultimately, this role will provide ongoing support to the national public information campaign.

The AVDC Environmental Scan will inform the forthcoming public information campaign about lessons learned from other similar and previous efforts. It will examine the demographic, financial, and social issues that point to the need for a national effort, as well as the subjects, methods, costs, and evaluation techniques of previous national campaigns. The environmental scan sets the stage for moving forward so those engaging in this shared effort can stand on the shoulders of those who preceded them.
