Position
MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE
The Manager of Global Store Design collaborates with the Director of Global Store Design to support the development of all global store design direction, global fixture development, and prototype development. This includes assisting with the leadership and development of Store Design standards worldwide. A critical responsibility includes partnering with global markets on adapting brand codes, fixture library and design guidelines to channel, reviewing shop layouts, shop/counter development and design, and local fixture execution.
Profile
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with Director of Store Design on the following:
Global Store Design
- Partner with Director of SD to develop brand standards and elevated tools for Global store design
- Evolve store design elements to meet the growing and changing needs of the business
- Collaborate with the markets and serve as a proactive mentor and resource for maintaining excellence and consistency in branded store design
- Partner with Director of SD to develop and implement a Design Manual for distribution to various consultants and internal visual team
- Establish and manage global store opening templates, checklists and communication standards
Store Design and Construction
- Source new materials, develop samples and on-board new vendors on a by-need basis to support local markets and/or global Merchandising developments
- Ability to develop a solid understanding of brand identity and aesthetics, with thorough attention to detail
- Develop & Review region-driven shop layouts and designs, sharing feedback and direction based off Fresh Merchandising Standards, particular in the unassisted selling (open sell) and travel retail environment
- Track and update weekly Global Store Design tracker, ensuring all projects are maintaining schedule and budget
- Review shop drawings & red-line construction documents
Vendor Coordination
- Serve as a key point of contact with all global accounts with fabricators, material suppliers, artisans, POSM vendors as needed
- Develop and adhere to key set of deliverables for each vendor
- Identify new vendors to provide efficient and innovative new solutions for the brand
- Provide strategic direction on vision to concept design for all vendors
Special Projects
- Partner and support Global Visual Merchandising team with store experience and branding initiatives
- Partner with Global VMSD team to support the rollout of new markets (directive development, store opening processes, sourcing, etc)
- Partner with Global VMSD team on the development of Global Theater/Special Project campaigns
Additional Responsibilities
- Weekly communication coordination with markets (includes international conference calls outside of typical office hours)
- Calendar and project tracker development
What you will learn in the first 6 months:
- Design guidelines for varied channel and market distribution. Maintain a cohesive brand experience for the differentiated consumer journeys and retailer requirements.
- Participate in all phases of a store development from concept, design, to execution.
- Form relationships with global and regional VMSD & cross-functional business partners through clear, consistent communication.
What you will learn in the first 12 months:
- Global leader and ambassador of brand store design standards and retail experience.
- Effectively develop, communicate and present store design & visual merchandising concepts reflective of brand storytelling and vision.
- Innovate and elevate store presentation through strong understanding of the Fresh global retail landscape and consumers.
Additional information
- Proven track record working autonomously and collaborating effectively
- Strong team spirit with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to travel; must be comfortable working atypical schedule to meet the needs of managing a global business
- Proficiency in 2D/3D software: Adobe Creative Suites, Autocad, Rhinoceros 3D, Sketchup and/or additional 3d rendering software (Keyshot, VRay) and Microsoft programs
- Store knowledge and curiosity about retail design, trend, and fabrication/production
- Experience in luxury retail preferred
- Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Passion for cosmetic retailing and entrepreneurial work environment
- Experience leading multi-functional teams
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Management or Architecture/Interior Design/Industrial Design with a strong desire to grow and learn
